Kit includes these materials to make two strings on a box:

2 guitar strings (.011)
4 u nails (strong staples)
2 eye screws
sand paper
template for marking where the frets go
coffee stirrers to make the frets
instruction sheet
songsheet

You'll need to collect these additional materials and tools:
a box (colored craft tape, paint or markers to decorate the box is optional)
a stick for the fretboard (two large paint stirring sticks glued together work perfect.  You can get these for free at your local hardware store.)
masking tape
scissors
hammer
pliers/wire cutter
glue (I prefer Aileene's tacky glue, but Elmers works fine too.)
ribbon or string to make a strap (optional)
